In short, you will need an old wooden frame which you will have to spray paint in a color that complements your room’s color scheme. Then you will have to secure some burlap on the frame’s back, using a staple gun. 6. Recycle old vinyl records into The Record Magazine Holder

Vinyl records can be upcycled into a stylish magazine holder quite easily! You just have to submerge each vinyl record in boiling water for 4 to 8 minutes, in order to make them soft and bendable, shape them into the desired form, and then just glue one on top of the other as seen in the picture, using a hot glue gun. Then you can attach a loop on the back of the top record, and hang your magazine holder on the wall.

You can make your own version of this stunning book folding art piece by using old hardcover books that are similar in size. In order to prepare the books, you will have to hot glue their backs onto backing board rectangles that are 1 or 2 inches smaller than the back of each book, and then divide their pages evenly, if you are aiming to create a symmetrical design. Finally, you will secure each book onto the wall with brads, that you’ll have to hammer into each of its corners. An old ladder made of wood can be turned into a fantastic upcycled bookshelf. Don’t worry if it is a little damaged, or if it has some kind of blemish, like drops of paint or some darker spots, since they will add to your project’s upcycled effect. You only have to secure the ladder a centimeter or two away from the wall using corner braces, making sure that it follows the corner of your room. You can stack your books in between the ladder’s steps, and they won’t fall off, since they can rest against the wall.

If you love the industrial look and know your way around tools, you will absolutely love this project. Try to get your hands on a vintage distressed funnel with a great patina, and use it to create a gorgeous industrial pendant lamp for your desk. This project involves welding and some electrical work, so you should only attempt it if you are confident in your skills. 10. Upcycle old bottles into colorful garden lanterns

By removing the bottom off some colorful old bottles, you will be able to transform them into wonderful garden lanterns that will bring a touch of magic to your decor with their playful glow. You will need some appropriately sized metal tealight bases that will fit your bottles, or, if you are unable to find any, you could make them yourself by welding basic tealight holders onto metal disks, and adding some thick gauge wire, in order to be able to hang your creations.
